Date Ideas and Foodventures

November 28, 2016

Food and travel are two things Bon and I are most fond of especially when we need a breather from work or even life itself. Look how much weight I gained because of those two things.~ Lol~

I may not blog as often as before but rest assured I'm still going to write about my recent foodventures and travels that could possibly inspire you guys to get off of that bed/couch and do something that could also awaken your tired soul.

My BB's (BlancheBon's) blogposts will feature Bon and I's travels, foodventures, thoughts and things in our relationship that we would love to share to my readers. <3

Here are places that we recommend for that most awaited vacation or even just for a date night with yourself, boyfriend or bestfriend. It worked for us, it might work for you too!

Dong Bei Dumplings

I was super stressed from work one day that Bon, Tina and I decided to do a side trip at Binondo to eat at my favorite dumpling place. Dong Bei has always been my go to place for authentic Chinese dumplings at a very affordable price. They serve 14 pcs (per serving) of tasty Kuchay Pork Dumplings for just 150 pesos. Kidd you not, they were the tastiest dumplings I've ever tasted in my whole existence.

Xrink Philippines

After eating so much dumplings that day, I asked Bon and Tina to walk around Lucky Chinatown with me. We randomly saw an ice skating rink in the middle of the mall so Tina and I decided to give it a try. Bon was hesitant at first but he still decided to come with. HEHEHE <3

Xrink is the first and only synthetic ice skating rink in the Philippines which is perfect for beginners like us. For 150 pesos per hour, we got to enjoy the  fun and "no pressure" ind of ice skating. It wasn't real ice so it eliminated our scare of falling down or slipping. It was fun to try too!

The National Museum

Bon and I have always planned to go to the National Museum since our first month. Things have been so hectic at work that we had it postponed at a later date. I've always told him that art will always have the other half of my heart; he has always supported me in this passion of mine that we finally found some time to go there along with one of my best friends, Jaja.

"The National Museum, a Trust of the Government, is an educational, scientific and cultural institution that acquires, documents, preserves, exhibits, and fosters scholarly study and public appreciation of works of art, specimens, and cultural and historical artifacts representative of our unique to the cultural heritage of the Filipino people and the natural history of the Philippines. It is mandated to establish, manage and develop museums comprising the National Museum Complex and the National Planetarium in Manila, as well as regional museums in key locations around the country."

Note: Seeing all these artworks are for free. So what's the reason to not go and appreciate the works of our Filipino gems, right?

Sunnies Cafe

After a super duper day at the National Museum, we decided to reward ourselves with great food and yummy desserts. Jaja and I have always been a fan of the It Girls while Bon has the biggest crush on Georgina Wilson so it was only fitting to try the Sunnies Cafe at BGC. From pastas, cocktails, big plates and vintage ambiance, they sure got you covered! Every cent was worth it. I can't wait to go back! <3

Note: Their tacos are the bomb!

The Circle Hostel

Itching for a getaway I saw this facebook post of Col Vidal that featured the Circle Hostel at Liwaliwa, Zambales. 6 hours away from the Metro with also a budget of not more than 1.5k for transpo, food and accommodation, The Circle Hostel offers a warm welcome for people who would love to try a new adventure.

Aside from its artsy and chill vibe, what's interesting about the place is that they only have three sleeping accommodations; bunk beds, hammocks and tents. Exciting, right? A walk to the beach is also no problem since it's 3 minutes away from the hostel. Whether its getaway for your barkada or loved one, we highly recommend this place. <3

Soban K-Town Restaurant

Its no secret that my friends and I have so much love for Korean food that I've already influenced Bon about it. HEHEHE ~sorry~ Bon and I were desperately looking for a new restaurant to try on our date day that we stumbled upon Soban K-Town Grill in Eastwood. One of the new Korean restaurants in Town, Soban offered a wide array of Korean food from ramen, Samgyupsal, desserts and Soju too! For an affordable price, we were able to have one of the BEST new Korean food in town. It was actually the highlight of our day aside from watching Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. *giggles*

Note: The servers looked so Korean too. <3

How about you? What are your date and restaurant suggetions? We'd love to hear about it on the comment section below. <3

Love xx
