Who Says You Can't Sparkle During The Summer x Althea Makeup Tutorial

March 20, 2019

I've been thinking long and hard on which makeup look I should go to for using the special makeup box I received from Althea. I was a little late to the "Althea Makeup Tutorial Party" because of a sudden visit from a virus called the chicken pox. ~i know, gross as can be right?~

It took me over a week to recuperate from the said virus and another 2 weeks to help me cure those dark spots left by the pox with the use of an unexpected savior, the Althea Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser. Intriguing, right? I know... but I'll be sharing that some other time. ~lol~

Let me first show you a makeup tutorial of a look that's a bit out there for the summer but is something that you'll surely enjoy and have fun with!
Necessities to achieve that Sparkly Summer look:

Before we start snatching our faces, let's begin with a blank face as canvass and an oil based serum. I personally use the Althea Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser as my base, a little bit of Petal Velvet Sunaway for some sun protection and of course primer to make sure that all the makeup goodness stays the whole day.
Next, you'll need to apply your foundation and top it off with the Flawless Creamy Concealer to hide tiny "flawsomesness" that we do have. *wink wink* I kidd you not, the Flawless Creamy Concealer has done wonders for me. I was scared that some of the leftover spots brought by the pox won't ever be covered up... but this product has been my most favorite of the whole makeup collection. Aside from it being able to cover some of my"flawsomess", its very easy to blend too.
By the way, I am using the shade "Mocha" which fits my skin color perfectly. <3  Also, notice the dark gray spot on my lower right cheek? It was instantly covered by the concealer. No edits, promise!
After that, its time for the brows. To be honest, eyebrow makeup is not my strongest suit but I try my best to make sure it's decent enough. A reminder to self: eyebrows are sisters and not twins. Don't get frustrated if they're not shaped the same. That's okay!
Now, it's time for the most fun but challenging part... picking the right shades off the Eye Palette Sunrise & Moonrise BCL x Althea. I for one am not very experimental when it comes to eye makeup. I often use brown or neutral sparkles because I am too scared that other colors may look a little too far off for me and my "morena" skin. But this look made me think otherwise, I can finally say that pinks and other light colors can work on tan skin so long as used the right way.
When you're getting a little too overwhelmed with mixing shades together, don't fret! You'll always have the chance to make some adjustments. You just have to use a little amount concealer to lighten some areas that will give way for the other shades you' like to try. ;)
So here's the order in which I chose the colors to fit the ~sparkly summer look~ I wanted to create:
1. Base shade
2. Upper Lid
3. Outer V
 4. Upper lash line, lower lash line and used to blend everything in the lid
5. Middle area for  extra sparkle
Since we're going a little extra for the summer, I decided to use the Spotlight Eye Glitter in the shade "Pink Light". Let me give you a little tip, put on some black eyeliner first then top that off with the said glitter liner to make sure that it does make a major appearance in your look.
I've always been a tad bit insecure about my chubby cheeks so I make sure that I contour my way to a smaller face, apply the right translucent powder for baking and a considerable amount of blush to always make sure that I have the "effortlessly-rosy-drunk-blush" cheeks - if that makes any sense. LOL

And with that being said, the Petal Velvet Powder in "Translucent" and the Water Color Cream Tint in "Plum Cream" were my best friends in this area. <3
And finally, the last step in sealing the deal is choosing the right lip color. There were 4 major tints to choose from and I decided to use the shades "Marron Cream" and "Peach Cream" to make sure that achieve those subtle gradient colored lips.
TADAAAAAAA! Who says you can't sparkle during the summer? *wink wink*
